Challenge & Scope Educating businesses and encouraging online license registration.
A public sector agency devoted to the licensing and registration of local entities needed an efficient way to engage with the business community. Specifically, the agency collaborates with businesses operating in the trade waste industry, the public markets, and the shipboard gambling industry to oppose corruption and enforce regulations.
The agency lacked a method of communicating with businesses to distribute key information regarding the changing regulatory landscape. They also sought a solution to assist with educating businesses on the quick and painless process of online license registration. To achieve these goals, the agency turned to PruTech.
Solution Rapid and agile Business Community Portal.
PruTech developed a community engagement portal using the expansive capabilities of Salesforce. Implementing this solution involved two phases. In Phase 1, PruTech delivered an enhanced Business Community Portal (BCP) that gave regulated entities the ability to submit required application information online. In Phase 2, PruTech expanded the portal to accept applications from multiple non-heating oil entities.
The BCP automates the entire online application process, including the collection of electronic signatures. With every application, the portal stores the information as a unique data element in Salesforce, enabling robust data analytics. Users can also supplement their applications by uploading soft documents as attachments, such as PDF’s, images, and other file formats.
